Ground Beef Stroganoff

1 lb. ground beef

1 onion, chopped

½ stick butter

1 carton fresh mushrooms, sliced

1 carton sour cream

1 can cream of mushroom soup

1 pkg. egg noodles, cooked al dente


Cook ground beef, onion, and butter in crock-pot for an hour on low. Add remaining ingredients (except noodles) to crock-pot and cook an additional 2-4 hours. Spoon all over cooked noodles.

I am trying to avoid sodium so the cream of mushroom soup is out for me but over all cooking this in the crock pot sounds good. Maybe I could add a little milk instead? My family is half vegetarian/half carnivore so I like simple recipes because I sometimes make a couple of meals for one dinner.

Love it! I always put the sour cream on at the end, but maybe it doesn't matter. Ya think?
